Having a problem with the 8 tooth gearing on the 5 15L liftarms. The gears on the individual assemblies move freely, but when linked together they bind. I did use a few of the older style 8 tooth gears. Is that my problem? I removed some, but it did not seem to help. I noticed in the instructions, the 2L liftarms are staggered in direction on the assembly. I faced mine all in the same direction. The thinking was less chance of them hitting each other. Was there a reason for that way of assembly?

Old 8 tooth gears should not be a problem. Putting all the 2L liftarms facing the same direction will be a big one : the one tooth offset between 8t gears is crucial for this module to work, it’s the key to generate the wave. If you follow the instructions precisely, with enough play on every axles (check and discard bended ones) the whole think should mode freely by hand before the piston rods are added.
