Balancoire is a small Great Ball Contraption module from Phi.L. Inspired by a creation from Philtech GBC builder, this LEGO ball machine works in a closed loop with two balls. The balls are picked up at the bottom of the GBC module by an articulated arm, which takes them to the top of the building. They then slide down ramps to return to their starting point. Made of relatively classic LEGO TECHNIC bricks, this small, compact and hypnotic module will look great on your desk once reproduced thanks to the free building instructions proposed by Phi.L. By moving the exit ramp from the right to the left of the module, you can also transform the closed loop into a classic module. So don’t wait any longer!

I just built this and found the same issues as above with the crank arm needing to be 5L not 7L in the instructions. Also found the seesaw weighted on the wrong side. The pictures and video are correct but slightly different than the instructions. Also, the axle that drives the crank arm is 8L with. 3L I think the gear…. Those need to be connected or a 12L all the way through
Otherwise, great build and I plan to modify to add to my other GBC modules.

I just built this with my kids! Thanks so much for the building instructions. There seem to be couple errors: the seesaw is weighted on the wrong side; the middle link in the crank mechanism should be a 5L liftarm instead of 7L liftarm so that it goes all the way down, and there’s a 2L pin in step 11 that doesn’t have a discernable place to go. We haven’t gotten the loading to work with a second ball in the loop yet, but unclear if that’s a design issue or an issue with our build. If you’re building this one you might cross reference with the video.
