If you don’t know yet Joost Schiphorst yet, then you may miss one of the most promising LEGO automata builders around. Even though he released a limited number of automata, his creations are already very mature and creative. Joost is a 22-year-old mechanical engineer, who started his journey with LEGO building when he was 18. Inspired by the ingenious creations of JK Brickworks, he embarked on a creative journey of his own, looking for the thrill of designing models that came to life with a single crank. One of his highlights was receiving a comment from his source of inspiration, JK Brickworks, who left a nice comment on his YouTube video “Lumberjack Zack”. Joost felt like it was like a validation of his work. Even though work and life kept him away from LEGO building these days, he still is fascinated by the things people build. As Joost continues to grow as a mechanical engineer, he carries with him the innovative spirit and hands-on skills that he owned during his LEGO-building days.
